Questions before we begin
Everything you need to know before stepping into the chair.
Booking
Everything’s by appointment, no walk-ins. It means I can give your piece the attention it deserves instead of rushing between chairs. Book through the form and I’ll get back to you to sort a date.
Either works. If you already know what you want, send it my way through the custom form and we’ll build it out together. If you’d rather pick something that already exists, have a look at my flash tattoo ideas — some of my favourite pieces started with someone just pointing and saying “that one.”
Custom means it’s made from scratch for you — your idea, your placement, nothing else quite like it. Flash is a design I’ve already drawn up, ready to book as-is, sometimes with small size tweaks. Both come out just as dark and detailed — one starts from a blank page, the other from something already waiting for a home.
Price & Deposit
Yes — a deposit locks in your slot and comes off the final price. It’s non-refundable on a last-minute cancellation or no-show, but that’s about respecting the time set aside for you, not about keeping your money. Move the date with enough notice and we’ll sort it.
It depends on size, placement and how much detail we’re packing in — a cathedral backpiece and a small flash design live in very different worlds, price-wise. I’ll give you a proper estimate once I know what you’re after, so nothing’s a surprise on the day.
Changing Plans
Life happens — just give me as much notice as you can. With enough warning we’ll simply rebook; last-minute cancellations may mean losing the deposit, since that slot could’ve gone to someone else.
Health & Eligibility
18, no exceptions. It’s the law, not a house rule — please bring ID if there’s any doubt.
Not if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding — that’s a hard no, for your safety and the piece’s healing. If you’re on medication or have a health condition, tell me before booking so we can check it’s safe to go ahead.
Sleep properly, eat before you come in, and stay hydrated. Skip alcohol the night before and avoid blood thinners if you can (check with a doctor first if you’re on medication) — it all affects how well you heal and how cleanly the ink sits.
Your Appointment
Yes — it’s a needle, repeatedly, not a spa day. Some spots sting more than others (ribs and hands are no one’s favourite), but most people find it far more manageable than they braced for. Consider it part of the ritual.
Small pieces can be an hour or two. Bigger custom work gets booked across multiple sessions — I’ll always tell you upfront what to expect so you’re not stuck guessing.
Aftercare & Follow-up
I’ll walk you through it before you leave and send full aftercare instructions too — keep it clean, keep it moisturised, keep it out of the sun and out of pools until it’s fully healed. Follow it properly and it’ll heal exactly as dark and clean as the day it was made.
Yes — if it’s within the normal healing window and nothing you’ve done has caused it, it’s free. Skin heals a little differently for everyone, so a touch-up isn’t unusual, it’s part of the process.
Often, yes — it depends on the size, colour and darkness of what’s already there. Send me a photo through the custom form and I’ll tell you honestly what’s possible before we commit to anything.
